How to Take Attendance with QR Codes

Tips for Success

Make the QR code visible

Print it large enough to scan from a distance. A 4-inch QR code works well for table tents. For projection, make it at least 12 inches on screen.

Test before the event

Scan the QR code yourself before attendees arrive. Make sure the form loads quickly and all the right fields are showing.

Have a backup

Share the check-in URL alongside the QR code. Some older phones might not scan QR codes natively, but everyone can click a link.

Use kiosk mode for high-traffic events

For events with 50+ attendees, set up a tablet in kiosk mode at the entrance. This prevents bottlenecks at the door since people can check in themselves without pulling out their phones.
